Organizers say W.C. Music Fest expected to be bigger and better

The Shoals is gearing up for the W.C. Handy Music Festival. Organizers for the festival say they are making this year's event bigger and better.

Learning from last year, Melanie Orseske from the W.C. Handy Music Festivals says "What we didn't do last year and we did do this year is we put our schedule of events on our web site early." The tourism office has already run out of schedules.

Organizers tried several new marketing techniques like facebook and other social media. Orseske says "We've been developing that for months and months and months and building up to this.

Many of the events are free and in popular parks or venues around Florence.
