Tallassee investigating another homicide

Tallassee police are investigating their second homicide in a week. Friday afternoon the police say they were notified of a domestic dispute with a verbal argument.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found one victim with a stab wound to the chest. The 20-year-old man is identified as Odaleious Daniel of Tallassee. He died at a local hospital.

Daniel's girlfriend is charged with manslaughter in the case. Quashaundra Simmons, also 20, is being held at the Tallapoosa County Jail.

Tallassee Police Chief Jimmy Rogers says Simmons was not charged with murder because they do not believe it was her intent to kill Daniel.

This is Tallassee's second death investigation in the last week. Two people have been arrested and charged in the death of 58-year-old Maxine Jackson.
