Escaped inmate snagged in Alex City

The man who went missing from the Federal Prison Camp at Maxwell Air Force Base is back behind bars after authorities tracked him down in Alexander City.

The U.S. Marshal's Service tracked down 40-year-old Jim Novak in Alexander City on Friday. Novak escaped from Maxwell on foot on July 19.

Novak was serving a 36 months Supervised Release Violation term on an original charge of Conspiracy to Distribute 500 Grams or More of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Firearm In a Drug Trafficking Crime.  He had a projected release date of November 29, 2013.
