Hello from the newsroom.
Talk about being down to the wire. The U.S. House passes a debt ceiling bill and sends it to the Senate for debate. We're told it's virtually assured of passing there.
The state of Alabama's AYP scores are out. That's Adequate Yearly Progress, mandated by the No Child Left Behind Act. Many area schools did well but others need a lot of work.
The judge in the State House corruption trial dropped 14 charges against three defendants. We'll match up the charges with the defendants.
And, the small town of Hackleburg gets some good news for a change...after nearly being wiped off the earth by a huge tornado in April. We'll share the news with you at 10.
Plus, Rich warns about down-right dangerous heat indices this week.
