Greenetrack is fighting a $75 million tax bill from the state and says in court papers the assessment far exceeds the track's assets.
Greenetrack has filed court papers in Greene County Circuit Court appealing the Alabama Revenue Department's attempt to collect $61.8 million in taxes and $13.7 million in interest for sales taxes not paid on electronic bingo proceeds from 2004 through 2008.
The track contends that state law prohibits levying sales tax on the machines' gross receipts.

Circuit Judge Eddie Hardaway has scheduled a status conference with attorneys on Aug. 25.
