Victoryland employee never misses a day at Corruption Trial

Of all the people in the Federal Courthouse - lawyers, defendants and reporters - there's another person waiting for a verdict in the Corruption Trial.  Ulysses White is a Victoryland employee and he's been in the courtroom everyday for the trial.

White has strong feelings about  Milton McGregor, who hired him 25 years ago.

"'I'm here everyday because I support the track, my loyalty is to the track," White said.  "Without Mr. McGregor giving me an opportunity to work, I wouldn't be doing nothing."

White said the trial means so much to him, he makes the trip everyday from Macon County, even though funds are tight because he hasn't been working.

"And it's costing me dearly with gas," White said.  "The way gas is, gotta fill it up and get back the next day."

And now like everyone else here, he's waiting for a verdict.  Until then he'll continue his daily trek.
