PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) - A broken power pole at the corner of Thompson and Peachtree in Prattville left approximately 1,000 customers in the dark Thursday evening.
Alabama Power spokeswoman Jan Ellis says a tree limb apparently fell on a cross-arm of the pole, causing it to break. The lines are currently down, but crews are working to reroute electricity.
Ellis said the majority of customers should be back in service by 8:15 and all customers by 9pm.
The broken pole and downed line tripped the breaker at a substation, which triggered the power outage.
Ellis said exactly 999 customers were without power.
