Elvis benefit concert was a big hit

Alabama Shakespeare Festival held their annual Elvis benefit concert on Saturday.

Scott Bruce and his band were back for their sixth year performing hits by the king of rock and roll.

ASF hoped to raise $20,000 to help out with expenses, and employees said this was an excellent way to do it.

"The music is what keeps it alive. the music is so special to so many people. it's fresh, even so many years later. and people just love it, they come in here and have a great time. the audience is just as entertaining as the entertainment, and it's one of the most fun things we do all year," said director of marketing, Meg Lewis.

The benefit will hold another concert on Sunday.
