Military spending pumps billions into Alabama's economy

The weather tonight is so "unsummerish" (is that a word?)  More on the life expectancy of the current temperature/humidity trend coming up.

2nd District Congresswoman Martha Roby talks about why she voted against the debt ceiling bill.  She says the bill contained language allowing for an automatic $600-billion cut to the U.S. military if other deficit reductions were not met.  She says that would be devastating for Alabama.  We'll let her fill in the details at 10.

A pair of 16-year olds are in the Montgomery County Jail tonight accused of capital murder in the beating death of a 91-year old man.  The victim hung on for 11 days before passing away Saturday.  One of the suspects reportedly mowed the elderly man's lawn before he was attacked in his home August 2nd.

Someone vandalized the Miracle Field in Opelika where kids and other special needs athletes played.  We'll tell you what police are doing to catch the culprits.

Montgomery has a city ordinance requiring anyone who burns to get a permit first.

And, Val hands out her weekly "Cash for Kindness" award.

Hope you'll joins us for all this and more.

See you on the set at 10.

Bob H.
