SCHOOL BUS AND CAR CRASH KILLS ONE

 

A high school senior is dead and dozens of children rushed to the hospital after a car and school bus collide in Russell county.  It happened this morning.  We'll tell you what authorities  say may have caused the accident.

Alabama's new immigration law facing its first court challenge.  More than 40 plaintiffs are trying to block the law from taking effect September 1st.  We'll have the latest from Birmingham.

The campaigning continues today for two Montgomery city council candidates.  Candidates Jim Spear and Richard Bollinger face each other in a runoff election in district one.  What they're doing to keep this election on the minds of voters.  

And, hurricane Irene strengthened overnight as it roars up from the Caribbean.  The storm's on a path that will take it across the Bahamas.  Chief Meteorologist Rich Thomas continues to track the storm.  We'll have the very latest.
