Floyd Elementary Teacher a Class Act

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - For 4th grade teacher Lateka Jackson, teaching runs in the family.  "I have a family history of teaching," Jackson said.  "I just want to touch the minds of students and impact their lives through teaching."

Ms. Jackson has spent 11-years in the classroom, the last 9 at Floyd Elementary in Montgomery.   The person who nominated her for the Class Act award says she's passionate, dedicated, engaging, and creative.    "I'm very excited and honored that someone would nominate me."

Perhaps what she enjoys the most, seeing her students grow throughout the year.    "It's amazing how they come to me one way, and when they leave they are so different."  She's helping mold young minds, one student at a time.  Ms. Lateka Jackson from Floyd Elementary School is this week's Class Act.
