MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

A motorcyclist continues to receive treatment at a Montgomery hospital following a collision Wednesday with a pickup truck.

The female motorcyclist, unidentified, collided with a Chevrolet truck in the southbound lanes of Perry Hill Road at Interstate Court. Her motorcycle quickly burst into flames.

Martha Earnhardt with the City of Montgomery said the biker's condition is now considered nonlife-threatening. The victim was rushed to Baptist Medical Center South after the crash in serious condition.

Earnhardt said the cause of the crash is still undetermined, and the investigation is ongoing.

Investigators believe the severity of the woman's injuries were minimized because she laid the bike down on the pavement to lessen the impact with the truck.

The driver of the pickup truck, also unidentified, was treated at the scene for unknown injuries.

Traffic was diverted through a gas station parking lot and around the site until the scene could be cleared.
