Paul Hubbert tells his board it's time to retire...

Friday - September 16, 2011

A major change in the political landscape of Montgomery is in the works.  AEA boss Paul Hubbert, who became arguably the most powerful man in state politics over the last 40 years, says he's ready to retire.  And, Joe Reed may join him. We'll continue to follow details starting with the news at 5 and 6 p.m.

Unemployment in the state dropped a bit in August.  We'll have the specifics on how many Alabamians are still looking for work.

A high school football player in our area is back home after being airlifted to UAB Hospital during a game.  He was involved in a couple of helmet-to-helmet collisions and temporarily lost his vision.  We'll have more on his recovery at 6.

And, when you head out to the high school football games in your area - carry a jacket.  It's going to be a nice, cool fall evening out there.

See you on the set with Val at 6!
