Off-duty MFD firefighter under arrest

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

A firefighter with the Montgomery Fire and Rescue Department is under arrest in Elmore County.

MFD was advised Wednesday that an unidentified off-duty employee was taken into custody by the Elmore County Sheriff's Department and the Prattville Police Department.

The firefighter was immediately placed on administrative leave.

The Montgomery Fire and Rescue Department says it has requested that the Office of City Investigations conduct an investigation into the firefighter's conduct.

The reason for the firefighter's arrest has not yet been confirmed.
