Henry Co. school bus, log truck collide

HENRY CO., AL (WSFA) -

Alabama State Troopers are confirming that an 18-wheeler carrying a load of logs collided with a school bus Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened on County Road 68 in Henry County.

The bus, part of the Henry County Schools' fleet, was carrying 14 students when the crash occurred. The school bus driver was transported to an area hospital where she was treated for her injuries.

None of the students were injured, though some parents took their children to the hospital out of precaution.

The bus suffered extensive front-end damage and the cab of the 18-wheeler was destroyed after it burst into flames.

The log truck driver was not injured and was able to help get the children off the bus.
