FORMER PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH SPEAKS HERE...

Hello from the WSFA 12 Newsroom!

Former President George W. Bush in town tonight - speaking to a fundraiser for Faulkner University.  We're at the Renaissance Hotel and Conference Center for the story.

Thousands of Alabama teachers may retire in December.  Why?  Because of a new state law passed by the Republican dominated state legislature. We'll have details at 6.

We now know the name of the Montgomery firefighter arrested in Elmore county - and the charges he faces.  We'll update the story we broke yesterday.

The President made a major jobs/economy speech today.  We'll recap it - at 5.

The city of Montgomery honored by the U.S. Navy which named a state-of-the-art fighting ship in honor of the state capital.

And, the Alabama National Fair opens tomorrow at 4 PM - and it's WSFA 12 News Day!  We'll have a preview of a "spruced up" Garrett Coliseum now awaiting thousands of fair goers.

Plus, Rich talks about the continuing upward trend for afternoon high temperatures.

See you on the set at 6 and again at 10!

Take care,

Bob H.
