Sophomore quarterback AJ McCarron passed for 237 yards and four touchdowns while junior running back Trent Richardson ran for 107 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown as the No. 2 ranked Alabama football team defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores 34-0 Saturday on Homecoming at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Crimson Tide improves to 6-0 (3-0 SEC) while Vanderbilt falls to 3-2 and 0-2 versus SEC opponents.

McCarron's four touchdown passes ranks second all-time for Alabama. Senior wide receiver Marquis Maze set a new career-high with nine catches on the day, totaling 93 yards while redshirt freshman DeAndrew White hauled in three receptions for 58 yards and two touchdowns. The Tide defense held Vanderbilt to 190 total yards, including just 48 in the second half. Alabama held a 14-0 halftime lead before scoring on back-to-back possessions to open the third quarter. The Tide added one more score in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring. Alabama travels to Oxford, Miss. to take on the Mississippi Rebels next Saturday. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. (CST) and will be televised by ESPN2.
