EUFAULA, AL (WSFA) -
The name of Peaceful Valley Church Road in Barbour County was set in stark contrast to a weekend discovery by a passing citizen.
Authorities say the body of a man was discovered on the side of the road. He'd been shot to death.
Sheriff LeRoy Upshaw identified the victim as Marvin Kurt Nation, 45, a Daleville native.
Sheriff Upshaw said he was one of the first on the scene along with Eufaula police officers.
He's now asking the Barbour County District Attorney's office and the Alabama Bureau of Investigation to help with the case.
The case remains under investigation. No other information was immediately available.
