It doesn't take long to see that Voncila Floyd is more than just a teacher to the 4th graders at Ariton. "I have a few kids who call me mother," Floyd said. She's been in the classroom for 24 years, but before teaching she considered doing something else. "When I was younger I always wanted to help people. I thought about being a nurse, but I can't stand the sight of blood. Being a teacher was the next best thing."
She loves watching the kids grow throughout the school year, and hopes to get them ready for the next level. "My teaching style is to love every student and accept they are different and teach in a way they can learn."
Congratulations Ms. Voncila Floyd from Ariton School, you're a real Class Act.
