Lee Malvo Guilty

Lee Malvo has been convicted of capital murder in one of the Washington-area sniper shootings. Malvo is the second sniper to be convicted on murder charges stemming from the shooting rampage. John Muhammad had already been convicted by another Virginia jury.

The jury in Malvo's trial rejected claims that he had been brainwashed by Muhammad into taking part in the three weeks of shootings that left ten people dead. The verdict came on the second full day of deliberations. The jury will now decide whether Malvo -- who's 18 -- should be sentenced to death or to life in prison without parole. Jurors in the Muhammad trial recommended a death sentence. Malvo's expressions had often been animated during the trial. But as the verdict was read, he had a blank look on his face.
