Additional victim steps forward in Oak Park shooting

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Witnesses at the scene that night described what happened as chaos. Eight people were treated for injuries. Now, Montgomery officials say a ninth victim has stepped forward in connection with the Saturday, September, 24 shooting at Oak Park.

Almost a month after the fact, a city spokesperson confirmed a ninth person has been identified as a shooting victim from that night.

Authorities say this person, a 19-year-old, was in the park at the time and received a minor gunshot wound. It is not immediately clear as to why this victim was not associated with the Oak Park incident until now.

As a result of this finding, all six people behind bars will each have an additional Second Degree Assault Charge added to the list of charges against them.
