5K benefits American Cancer Society

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Many people in the Capital City got up bright and early Saturday morning to support a great cause.

The "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and Run" was a 5K held at Huntingdon College.

Proceeds from the event benefit the American Cancer Society.

Event organizers say they want to support breast cancer research, bring awareness to our community and help survivors realize they are not alone in their struggles.

WSFA reporters Sally Pitts and Melissa McKinney emceed the event and participated in the 5K.
