Selma church aims to get guns off the streets

SELMA, AL (WSFA) - Macedonia Apostolic Church sponsored a gun buyback program Saturday as a way to get guns off the streets.

The church, located of Clinton Avenue in Selma, offered $100 for any working guns that were brought in.

Chief William Riley says the weapons will be checked for any links to a crime and then destroyed.

The program collected a total of 57 guns.
