Montgomery Fire Fighter hit with sex charges against child

PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Fire Fighter arrested last month for harassment of a child in Elmore County has had additional charges filed against him, this time in Autauga County.

According to court documents, 35-year-old John Montague was arrested on Tuesday and charged Thursday with two counts of Electronic Solicitation of a Child. Documents state that police believe Montague used a Cell Phone to attempt to arrange meetings with a child under the age of 16 for sexual purposes at both Birmingham Southern University and Edgewood Academy back in September.

Montague turned himself into the Elmore County Sheriff's Office in October and was charged with harassment for allegedly kissing a 13-year-old girl and sending her inappropriate text messages. He was listed as a volunteer sports coach at the same private school in Elmore County the girl attended.
