The National Weather Service has already confirmed that three tornados touched down in Alabama on Wednesday, but their work isn't done yet. Later today, the NWS will conduct aerial surveys of the damage in Lowndes, Montgomery and Elmore counties.
What we know right now is that a tornado, classified as an EF2, moved through Sumter County.
In Marengo County, and EF0 hit Demopolis, causing minor damage to businesses and homes.
An EF1 tornado tore through Macon and Lee counties, destroying and damaging homes and causing extensive tree damage.
