AUBURN, AL (WSFA) - The Lee County Coroner's office says a body discovered on Thanksgiving Day has been positively identified as belonging to a man who had been reported missing a week earlier.
Coroner Bill Harris says the body was positively identified as belonging to 44-year-old Owen Scott Scarborough, an Auburn resident.
Scarborough's remains, identified through fingerprints, were discovered near the intersection of Rosie Street and Harmon Drive.
He was last seen on November 17. He was reported missing on November 19.
Investigators say the cause and manner of death are still pending, but foul play is not suspected in the case.
The case remains open, according to Harris, and the Auburn Police, the Lee County Coroner and the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences continue to investigate.
