The Alabama Bureau of Investigation is looking into an officer-involved shooting after Tallassee police fired on a man Monday night.

Tallassee Police Chief Jimmy Rogers said the shooting happened around 8:30pm at a home on Macedonia Road. Investigators were executing a search warrant for drugs when the shooting occurred.

Chief Rogers said fired his gun, striking the unidentified person in the chest.

The person was transported to a Montgomery Hospital where they are listed in stable condition.

During the investigation, Rogers said officers found drugs and two firearms.

The ABI is investigating the incident as a matter of policy due to the fact that an officer was involved.
