Autauga Co. schools to dismiss early Friday

All Autauga County schools will be dismissed early on Friday, Dec. 2, since numerous people will be involved in the state championship football game between 6A schools Prattville and Hoover.

Schools will be dismissed at 1:00pm Friday. The instruction time will be made up at a future, undetermined date.

The Prattville Lions will hold a pep rally Thursday at 2:30pm at the school. The public is invited. Following the pep rally, the Lions will walk from the gym to the bus. The public is also invited to cheer on the team during this time.

The football team will spend the night in Birmingham Thursday as they prepare for their big game.

The Prattville vs. Hoover game will be shown on both WSFA 12.2 and WSFA's primary channel.

There are at least 500 students directly involved with the football, band and other areas who are expected to attend the game.

The Walk of Champions will take place at 5:15pm on Friday right outside Bryant Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.

If the Prattville Lions win their game, the team and the public are invited to roll downtown Prattville after the Lions arrive back in town. That's expected to happen sometime after midnight.

Officials say the public can roll any tree in downtown Prattville except for the Christmas tree. It will be guarded.

Officials say there are also plans to include the team in the Christmas parade Saturday should they become the 6A state champs!
