Huntsville city bus fired upon

Five shots were fired at a Huntsville city bus while passengers were on board Tuesday morning.

Police cleared the scene on Blue Springs Road. Bus number 526 was headed toward Medaris Road near Richard Showers Center at the time of the incident.

Officials say that a car pulled next to the bus and fired shots.  Police are still trying to determine what type of weapon was used, but transit officials believe it is a BB gun

Four people were on the bus at the time of the shooting.

The bus was parked in the Richard Showers Center parking lot while officers investigated. No one has been arrested in the shooting.

The Huntsville Department of Transportation has a description of the vehicle, but they are letting Huntsville Police release information.

This is the first time that transit officials can remember that a bus was shot at in Huntsville.
