The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Alabama's northeast corner, where forecasters say as much as 3 inches of snow is possible.
Forecasters say temperatures were expected to remain just above freezing most of Wednesday, so no major travel problems are expected.
But temperatures are predicted to drop into the mid- to upper 20s overnight, meaning some black ice is likely on roadways by Thursday morning.
