Ala. restaurant finds self in 'pickle'

An iconic chain of seafood restaurants is being accused of unauthorized use of a copyrighted training video titled, "Give `em the Pickle!"

A federal lawsuit filed Thursday in Alabama accuses Wintzell's Oyster House of copyright infringement.

Seattle-based Media Partners Corp., which created the video, maintains that top managers of the restaurant company ordered unauthorized copies to be made for training at restaurants in Montgomery, Mobile, Huntsville and Pensacola, Fla. Media Partners said in the lawsuit that a Wintzell's manager said the company didn't want to pay for licensed copies of the video.

A Wintzell's manager was not immediately available for comment early Friday morning.

Wintzell's operates stores across Alabama and in parts of Florida. It was founded by J. Oliver Wintzell in 1938 as a 6-stool oyster bar in Mobile.
