(RNN) - Mobile's New Year's Eve celebration will be an all-night affair.
At 7:30 p.m., a special Mardi Gras-style parade featuring the city's best floats and marching bands will kick off. With an impressive 28 units, the parade will be nearly triple the size it was in 2010.
Following the grand carnival, spectators will have the chance to hear live entertainment at MoonPie Over Mobile's main stage.
At 9:30 p.m., funk band Lakeside will take the audience on a "Fantastic Voyage" as they perform their No. 1 R&B hit and the rest of their nearly three decades-long catalogue.
Legendary music icons Three Dog Night will then have audiences ready to "Celebrate" starting at 11 p.m. They'll perform through a state-of-the-art laser light show, the MoonPie Drop and fireworks. When the MoonPie drops, the group will sing "Auld Land Syne," immediately followed by a rendition of their smash-hit single "Joy to the World."
Although the grand spectacular will draw to a close at 12:30 a.m., historic downtown Mobile's bars, restaurants and hotels have plenty of events planned to keep you celebrating all night long.
