Christina-Taylor's goals live on through foundation

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Something good is coming out of the terrible events of that day in January.

A foundation Christina-Taylor Green's parents, John and Roxanna, set up in her name is helping children all across Tucson.

She was a little girl with big plans.

People who knew Christina-Taylor know she was going to make a difference in the world.

Her family has made sure that happens, by creating The Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Foundation.

After a gunman took their daughter's life,  John and Roxanna Green knew they had to keep going for each other, their son, their friends, Christina.

"We're giving through her eyes in needed areas of education and arts programs, and athletics,"  John said.

"Those were her three loves," Roxanna added.

One of the first big projects was a new playground for Christina's school, then came classroom supplies, and a scholarship fund.

The foundation has given about $110,000 dollars to schools so far.

"We want to make sure her dreams come true," John said. "We had a lot of plans and a lot of goals. She had a lot of dreams, and since all three of us know what they are, because she was so vocal about it. Through the foundation, we're going to make it happen as much as we can."

Christina-Taylor's butterfly drawings inspired ornaments and jewelry, with all the proceeds going to the foundation.

And big plans are ahead.

Someday the Green's hope to build a sports facility and a children's theater, and leave the legacy they know their daughter would have.
