Arrest after woman hit with boiling water

A Montgomery man has turned himself in for his role in an assault on December 30, 2011 that sent a woman for treatment in Birmingham.

According to the Montgomery Police Department, authorities were called to the scene of an assault 8:15 p.m. that evening.

The victim, who had been burned by boiling water, was treated at Jackson Hospital before being transferred to UAB.

The suspect, 45-year-old Brian Crumpton, turned himself in to MPD late Thursday evening, January 5.

Crumpton has been charged with Assault in the Second Degree following the incident.

He is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility on $15,000 bond.
