TIDE 48-3 UNDER SABAN WHEN LEADING AT THE HALF: The Crimson Tide is 48-3 when leading at halftime under head coach Nick Saban.

Over that span, the Crimson Tide has surrendered just three points or less on nine occasions, including six shutouts. Alabama also only allowed one first down and 43 total yards against the Tigers in the half.

SMELLEY FINISHING STRONG: Alabama senior tight end Brad Smelley has been finishing his Crimson Tide career on a strong note. Coming off a game where he caught a career-high six passes for 86 yards and a touchdown against Auburn, Smelley continued the trend against LSU. He caught six passes for 35 yards in the first half. Over the last two and a half games, the senior has caught 16 passes for 179 yards and hauled in three touchdowns.

McCARRON STARTS FAST & FINDS SIX DIFFERENT RECEIVERS: Alabama sophomore quarterback AJ McCarron got off to a quick start against LSU. McCarron was 18-for-25 with 156 yards while finding six different receivers. Over the last eight quarters, McCarron is 50-for-67 with 530 yards and has tossed six touchdowns without an interception.

SHELLEY MOVES UP THE ALABAMA CHARTS: Junior placekicker Jeremy Shelley now ranks sixth in Alabama history in points scored in a season with 109. Shelley scored all nine of the Crimson Tide's first-half points, with a 23-yard, a 34-yard and a season-high 41-yard field goal.
