An investigation is underway in Opelika, after a resident finds a human skull.

The skull was located near a residence in the 1700 block of Hurst Street near Brook Haven Trailer Park.

According to investigators, the skull appears to be that of a five to seven year-old-child. The race and sex are unknown.

No other remains were located.

The case remains under investigation.
