Siegelman Appeal

 

Former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman is filing a new appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court regarding his 2006 federal government corruption conviction. It suggests Siegelman  was "convicted of things that are not crimes."  Siegelman's Attorney says the appeal questions whether a campaign contribution can be used for a bribe. The former governor has served nine months of a more than seven-year federal prison sentence. He is currently free on bond.
