Dothan police ID homicide victim

The Dothan Police Department  is releasing additional details surrounding a death investigation that started over the weekend. Investigators say they began looking into a possible shooting death on February 4th of a man named Jarvis Daffin.

Daffin, 24, was last seen going to Headland, Alabama with two other men.

Investigators say they believe during this trip, Mr. Daffin was fatally wounded by a single gunshot wound and his body was dumped in a wooded area in the vicinity of Tumbelton, Alabama.

Dothan investigators, along with the Henry County Sheriff's Office, Headland Police Department and A.B.I. located the victim's remains and additional evidence that was left behind. The motive for the crime appears to be robbery, according to police.

An autopsy Monday definitively confirmed the victim is Jarvis Daffin.

Investigators have developed several persons of interest but are not releasing any further information at this time.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case or identity of the suspect to call the Dothan Police Department or CrimeStoppers 334-793-7000.
