Millbrook man struck by SUV

MILLBROOK, AL (WSFA) -

A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by an automobile in Millbrook Wednesday evening. The collision happened around 9:30pm in the 70 block of Old Orchard Road as the victim and his spouse were walking for exercise.

Authorities identified the man as 47-year-old Millbrook resident Kent Snowden. Snowden was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported by helicopter to Baptist South Hospital in critical condition. Mr. Snowden is said to have suffered head trauma and internal injuries due to the impact.

Police Chief P.K. Johnson said both the victim and the vehicle that struck him were traveling south on Old Orchard Road with the incident occurred. "Due to the severity of the victim's injuries, this case remains under investigation," Johnson said in a statement.

"It's entirely too early to speculate if any criminal charges will be forthcoming," Johnson said.

Snowden is said to be in critical but stable condition at this time. No other injuries were reported.
