MORGAN CO., AL (WSFA) -
If your travels next week take you along Interstate 65 in north Alabama, you need to know about some interstate lane closures that are planned.
The Alabama Department of Transportation is finalizing plans to repair a slide on the outside shoulder of I-65 North in Morgan County near mile marker 330, between Hartselle and riceville.
For the safety of motorists and workers and to expedite repairs, the project require the closure of both northbound lanes between Exits 328 and 334. Signed detours will be in place during the repairs. It is anticipated that the closure/detours will begin early next week.
ALDOT continues to monitor the slide around the clock and will release more information on the project as it becomes available.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone and detour signs, and use extreme caution in this area.
