TROY, AL (WSFA) -
When it comes to teaching math at Troy Elementary School, things just seem to add up in Ms. Janet Maddox's class. She's been teaching at Troy Elementary for the last 7 years and spent more than 20 years in the classroom overall.
"My favorite thing is the children," Maddox said. "Every day is a new adventure and I think that's why I enjoy it so much after 20 years."
A parent nominated Maddox for the Class Act Award, saying Ms. Maddox has a true passion for teaching and an even bigger love for all her students.
When her students leave fourth grade Ms. Maddox hopes they take several things with them. "I hope they know they've worked hard to be successful, and I hope they feel good about themselves."
You can tell they feel good about her, making a big difference in the classroom every day.
