MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Montgomery police are investigating a shooting at Eastdale Mall at this hour. Details are limited, but this is what WSFA 12 News can confirm.

The victim, an unidentified adult male, was shot multiple times, according to police on the scene. The victim was rushed to Baptist South Medical Center for surgery. He is listed in critical but stable condition.

The shooting occurred at 3:20pm in the Sears parking lot closest to the Belk department store. The suspects were seen fleeing in the direction of the Max Credit Union.

Mall security followed two suspects, according to police. Alabama State Troopers also put a helicopter in the air to assist in the search.

Montgomery police pursued two suspects who were said to have bailed out of a vehicle near Eastdale Loop. The suspects then ran into a neighborhood behind the mall off of Dunbarton Road. Officers took the unidentified individuals into custody a short time later.

The mall is said to be safe and is operating under normal business hours at this time. Mall General Manager David Schloss issued the following statement:

"We understand that in the parking lot at the far end of the mall property two men had a dispute and one was allegedly shot. No shoppers or employees of the mall were involved in any way. The police have made an arrest."

Authorities say this was not a random act of violence. The victim was targeted and there were no other individuals harmed in the incident. There's no other information available at the moment.

WSFA 12 News has a crew at Eastdale Mall, and they're working to gather additional details. Keep checking back.
