MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The suspects in Thursday's high speed chase on I-85 have been identified and charges have been filed.

The driver, Kevin Hinkle, was charged with Felony Attempt to Elude. Reckless Driving, Driving with a Suspended License, Burglary Third Degree and Theft Second Degree.

Anthony Jerome Thomas, Jr. was charged with Burglary Third Degree and Theft Second Degree.

One other person was taken to the hospital and charges are pending.  Charges are also pending on a juvenile who's name was not  released.

Authorities say speeds exceeded 115 mph in some places as they pursued a suspicious vehicle that eventually caused a multi-car crash along Interstate 85.

The incident back up traffic on the interstate, and along Perry Hill Road for several hours as authorities worked the scene.

The incident started in the 3:00pm hour when police began receiving calls of a suspicious vehicle. Montgomery County Sheriff D.T. Marshal said residents in the Bridle Brook Farms area became concerned about the vehicle and deputies were dispatched.

Deputies went to the area to investigate and reported that the vehicle fled as they initiated a vehicle-stop procedure. Authorities say the car sped down Chantilly Parkway, a stretch of roadway with a 55 mph speed limit, at more than 115 mph.

The suspects' car merged onto Interstate 85 and the chase intensified. Speeding south toward Perry Hill Road, the driver showed no intention of stopping. The chase came to a screeching halt, however, when the black Cadillac crashed into a retaining wall under the Perry Hill Road bridge.

Another vehicle became tangled in the initial crash and was also damaged, leading to a blockage of traffic on the busy interstate. No serious injuries were reported.

The suspects in the Cadillac didn't let the crash slow them down. "As soon as they crashed into this wall, three of them exited the vehicle and hopped the concrete divider," explained Alabama State Trooper Sgt. Steve Jarrett.

Sgt. Jarrett said the suspects boldly crossed three lanes of busy northbound I-85 traffic on foot. One commuter with a heavily damaged windshield told WSFA 12 News a suspect literally ran into his car.

In all, four suspects were taken into custody on the scene.
