OPELIKA, AL (WSFA) -

The Lee County Sheriff's Department says it has arrested a Phenix City attorney on multiple theft charges. Attorney Dana Posey Gentry turned himself in Thursday morning.

Gentry, 39, is charged with four counts of Theft of Property in the First Degree (by deception) and one count of Theft of Property in the Second Degree (by deception).

Gentry surrendered after being notified that additional arrest warrants had been signed and issued.  He was released from the Lee County Detention Facility after posting a $23,000 bond.

The current arrest comes five months after Gentry was arrested on two Grand Jury indictment warrants. Authorities say one of the charges was Unlawful Possession of a Forged Instrument and the other was Criminal Simulation.  That arrest occurred on September 21, 2011.

Then, on November 3, 2011, Gentry was arrested on one count of Theft of Property in the First Degree (by deception).

Police say all of the cases stem from situations associated with Gentry's Law firm's business practices. The cases are still under investigation.

If you have any information about these cases or any other cases please contact Lee County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-522-7847.
