HOOVER, AL (WBRC) -
Hoover Police Captain Jim Coker has confirmed that a man hit several cars along Highway 150 this afternoon in Hoover.
The incident began when a man hit a car being pulled out from Long-Lewis Ford. He fled the scene but a police officer who had witnessed the incident followed him and attempted to stop him. The man did not pull over and a "low speed chase" ensued for about four miles to the intersection of highways 31 and 150, where the man then hit additional vehicles.
Police also confirmed that the man was pulled from his vehicle at gun point, and that he was naked. He was arrested and then taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No one was seriously injured but Captain Coker believes that up to 8 vehicles were damaged.
The 57-year-old man has not been identified, but police tell FOX6 that he is from Hoover.
Police work to clear the scene of an accident at highways 31 and 150.
