AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -
All lanes of Interstate 85 have reopened following an automobile crash Wednesday morning. Both north and southbound lanes were closed for several hours near mile marker 55 in Auburn.
Auburn police say a vehicle traveling in the northbound lanes crossed the median where it struck another vehicle head on.
Medics transported the driver of each vehicle, both females, to East Alabama Medical Center. One victim suffered minor injuries. The other victim suffered a head injury.
Authorities say both women are conscious and alert and that injuries are not life-threatening.
An investigation into why the crash happened is under way.
