Winner of the Ashley Furniture HomeStore contest Announced

PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) -

The Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Prattville held it's "Live Free" contest today. One winner was chosen at the Prattville location to win their choice of free gas or groceries for an entire year which is valued at $3,600. The Grand Prize winner which was drawn from all six winners of the participating locations nationwide received rent/mortgage for a year, groceries for one year, and gas for one year which is valued at $19,000.

The winner from the Ashley Furniture HomeStore Prattville location was Jeanette Macon of Montgomery. Macon stated she was "Ecstatic" and didn't think she was going to win. She chose to take the prize of free gas for a year due to the rising gas prices. Macon registered for the drawing a few weeks ago instead of today like most participants.

Macon however wasn't able to take home the Grand Prize but she was still thankful to have won the free gas for a year. The Grand Prize went to a contestant at the Tupelo, MS location.

Ben Moore a Manager for the Prattville location said that over 1,000 people registered for the chance to win free gas or groceries for a year.  Moore says that Ashley Furniture and HomeStore is dedicated to the community and tries to hold community events at least once a month. The next community event that the Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Prattville is sponsoring is in conjunction with the American Red Cross.
