The Alabama Department of Archives and History says it will unveil the official portrait of former Governor Bob Riley during a ceremony Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. 

The former governor and former First Lady Patsy Riley will be in attendance at the ceremony, along with state officials and members of Governor Riley's Cabinet. 

After its unveiling, the portrait will be displayed in the rotunda of the Alabama State Capitol. 

Mark Carder is the artist who was commissioned to paint the official portrait of Governor Riley. 

Mr. Carder is a world-renowned artist best known for his commissioned portraits of two United States Presidents and a former United States Secretary of State. 

Mr. Carder has lived in Birmingham and currently resides in Hawaii.

The portrait of Governor Riley was funded through private donations.
