Suspect in Millbrook shooting case in court

MILLBROOK, AL (WSFA) -

Marcus Dupree Hurry, the man police apprehended in an officer-involved shooting at intersection of Highway 14 Tuesday afternoon, appeared in federal court Wednesday.

A photo of Hurry was not immediately available.

Hurry faced a judge for charges relating to the assault of a Deputy United States Marshal. The man was remanded to federal custody and is scheduled to appear in court again next week. An exact date was not immediately known.

Hurry was arrested during the Millbrook incident around 12:30pm Tuesday as U.S. Marshals moved in to serve a murder warrant on a different person, Leslie McMillian.

The suspect's vehicle crashed into a car driven by Clay McNeil, an Alabama AAA representative who frequently makes appearances on WSFA 12 News' community events show, Alabama Live!.

McMillian was also arrested on the scene and transported to the Autauga County Jail.

Authorities say no law enforcement officers were injured in the incident, but at the request of the United States Marshal Service the Alabama Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation into the officer-related shooting.
