The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta said it will not issue a ruling regarding Alabama's and Georgia's immigration laws.
The three-judge panel at the Appeals Court said it will wait until the United States Supreme Court makes a decision regarding Arizona's similar immigration law.
Opponents of the immigration laws appealed to the 11th Circuit Court saying that the laws are discriminatory and lead to racial profiling.
Attorneys General from nine states filed amicus briefs in support of Alabama.
Several foreign countries filed briefs in opposition to the state laws saying they could put a strain on relations with the United States.
